Mission Statement

The mission of Florida University of Sanitary Education (FUSE) is to provide water and wastewater treatment plant operators and supporting staff with the latest in emerging technologies, process control, procedures, methods, and improved concepts in a training program to enrich their knowledge and experience within the workplace and obtain required continual education units (ceu’s) for license re-certification.

Our instructors include highly qualified individuals from across the country. Each of our instructors has college or doctoral degrees, field experience in excess of twenty years, and is available to share his or her experience with the student through the course material. Our instructor base has been involved in local, state, and national conferences, short schools, written publications, as well as, experienced in distance education.

The FUSE Team pilot test program, construction, emergency and preventive repairs, and the design/build projects illustrate the broad range of experience available to a local governmental agency. Our network is available in geographical locations to provide highly experienced water and wastewater treatment experts to address your current problems with cost – benefiting solutions. The accountability for the treatment operating system has gone out of control, in some cases and require conservative experienced individuals to evaluate the existing problems with experienced and know-how solutions. Each system is different and very difficult to prepare a proposal without an evaluation of the situations. Within the State of Florida, we are available to address these issues and provide a cost benefit approach to save taxpayer dollars and provide a highly quality operation.

FUSE is committed to a long term plan of developing training sponsors and course material in which students retain knowledge from their training courses, rather than memorizing answers to pass a course quiz. FUSE is involved in a national discussion of surveying the transfer of knowledge from the instructor and courses to the student or operator. FUSE has worked for many years to obtain the high level and standardization utilized today in our course curriculum, thus our policy is to maintain this high level through the review process of any course.
